The weekend of 18th & 19th January saw 124 Blood Bowlers descend on Firestorm Games in Cardiff for the Welsh National Championship 2025. Would Mankiz threepeat? Would we see a new champion? Will TheShepherd and Hobnail lose their voice thanks to the poor microphone? All questions answered below!
We had some issues with the tournament starting a little late due to some attendees travelling down by car on the morning of the event and getting a puncture. These things happen of course but it resulted in me having to manually alter the draw which I had to do for the first time in Tourplay. Ironically by the time I got it sorted the missing players had arrived. Before too long though 62 games were underway and shouts of Sheepy Reroll! echoed through the arena
Serious business
By the end of day two, my voice was indeed beginning to crack, over 360 games of Blood Bowl had been played and in my new favourite achievement for this event, we had eaten all the bacon and sausages that Firestorm had available. Sheepy coaches had been issued, Pogostick Productions tokens given out, spot prizes from Charlie Victor had been won and winner trophies from Battle Bling were ready to be issues along side prize support from DocMiniature and Firestorm
