Team Wales EuroSquad 2026

Well, well, well runner’s up in Hungary huh, how on earth can Welsh Blood Bowl top that… well I guess there is only one way and that is by going one better in Poland!

To Commemorate a very good result in Hungary this commemorative poster was created:

Team Wlaes

The Qualification Process and Results

This year we used the Danish ELO scores with current scores being taken quarterly, in line with our charter the top 10 qualified for Poland, those 10 elect a Captain and then the new Captain uses 2 Captain’s picks to complete the squad of 12.  The Captain then selected which of the 12 compete in the Bowl and the Open respectively and selects a Captain for the open team too.

Your captain for this year, aiming to push the team one place further than our result in Hungary.

While I am a first time Eurobowl captain, this will not be my first time captaining Wales. I have previously captained the u19 basketball team through multiple tournaments. I have also been apart of the senior national team for basketball wales.

I’ve been playing blood bowl for just under two years, but quickly fell into the competitive side of the game, having already played over 40 tournaments. These include representing Wales in Eurobowl, finishing second in Budapest, and stepping up to fill in on the Open team in Athens at just my seventh ever tournament.

To date, I’ve won four tournaments and primarily played Necromantic and Amazons at big tournaments last year, including a run of 28 games unbeaten. That said, I have competed with double-digit races across various events, including tournaments in France, giving me a broad range of experience against different playstyles and metas.

With what I believe is our strongest team to date, my ultimate goal is to win the Eurobowl. However, a top-five finish would still represent another outstanding performance for the squad.

I am proud to lead this team and confident that we can produce our best result yet on the big stage.

I played my first tournament at the end of 2019, playing three of Team Wales as my first three games. One of them, Dionysian, suggested I might have what it takes to play for Wales; I took that as a challenge.

Due to things like COVID and weddings it took a while to prove him right!

I like to knuckle down with any team and play it for an extended period, except for Lizardmen.

Currently looking at Dark Elves and wondering how long it will take to Stab one of every player type in the game.

Played since 1992 but only started playing tournaments in 2022.

Won tournaments with Khorne and Halflings.

This will be my 3rd consecutive year representing Wales in bloodbowl having previously represented Wales in Roller Hockey.

Last year I was morale officer and the team morale was through the roof making me the obvious choice as captains pick.

I will bring a bottle of Whisky to home nations to hear loynsters rendition of delilah!

I started playing blood bowl in 1989 my first team was 10 halflings and 5 elves back in 2nd edition where mixed race teams were allowed.

I carried on playing through until the early 2000 in a local league with 10 or so friends throughout 3rd edition and that’s where the sordid love affair with High Elves began as did my membership of the naf, during it’s infancy, my membership number is 1009, although I didn’t attend any tournaments during this time.

Then after a hiatus of several years and copious hours playing world of warcraft blood bowl 1 came out, and my wife bought it for me and that was it I was back.

After a few years of online only the ukbbl set up some non naf tournaments and I won my 2nd ever tournaments ukbbl tt 4.

Then one of the ukbbl members suggested going to the uktc and I played at uktc 2 playing a large number of international opponents that was all I did for a few years, and my results were spotted by the Wales Captain for Wales Eurobowl 2018 and much to my shock i was called up.  I loved it I was hooked.

I decided to try and qualify the following year and signed up to some events the following year.

Much to my shock i seemed to be pretty good  and I went 15-4-1 in my first 20 naf games winning my first solo tournament and my 3rd the ecbbl pearly kings and queens playing wulfyn,  geggster, wags, Bartk and gritter along the way.

10 tournament wins, lots of awards later and I’m still here competing.

I love everything blood bowl, I’ve seen multiple evolutions and I come back for more and more.

Now an established part of the Team Wales squad having represented Wales having represented Wales at 3 previous Eurobowl/Europen events.  Played countless hours of Blood Bowl 2 in ladder and in the UKBBL league.  Rediscovered tabletop Blood Bowl when the 2016 version was released, picked up a couple of teams and found the Firestorm League in Cardiff.  Quickly picked up a reputation for causing lots of casualties that hangs around to this day despite now holding more than twice as many most touchdown awards to most casualties awards.

Picked up three NAF trophies with Skaven, Vampires and Snotlings, but winning a tournament with his best race, Lizardmen, still evades him.  Represented Wales in the Europen in Malta, followed by Eurobowl in Greece and Hungary, plus two Home Nations appearances as well.  16 races played so far and looking to add some more this year.

Fun fact, I played 2.5 games of a 3 game tournament with only 10 players on the pitch!

Previously the youngest NAF member, I secured my first win in my 15th game of tabletop.

Now, 10 years later after a podium finish in Europen and Eurobowl, I’m excited to be representing Wales again on the national stage – hoping for another podium to keep the streak going!

My favourite team was tomb kings for a while, but they lost their magic after playing so much. I haven’t really settled on a specific team for the new edition, so will probably end up just playing a ton of whatever the team needs me to play for the Eurobowl ruleset.

The rookie of this team and the 52nd coach to represent the Dragons for Bloodbowl. A cymro, a man born on hillsides of Aberystwyth, where men are real men, women are real women and sheep are real sheep. He loves his country, his family and throwing dice. He’s already played for Wales in Warhammer Fantasy and Age of Sigmar, captaining Wales to their first Warhammer 6 nations podium in the latter. Since coming back into Bloodbowl with the 2016 edition, he set his sights on the honour of representing his country in a 3rd system, the best of all – Bloodbowl!

He has 2 NAF trophies to his name, with humans and undead. He also has a prolific league record as one of only 2 coaches in history (and the only Welshman) to be champion of the two major London leagues; the ECBBL and DBL. The former, the longest-running London league; and the latter, the largest Bloodbowl league in the world.

But most importantly, as a true Welshman he can drink an entire bottle of Penderyn whiskey and still sing Delilah like Tom Jones – ask him…but you’ll have to pay for the whiskey.

Last minute stand in for the 2025 EB team managing some success with humans. Have represented Wales in both Portugal and Hungary. Whilst I have no favoured team, I do often fall victim to signing up with whatever team I painted most recently. Explains why I was mad enough to take vamps to Malta and Slann to Alicante.

AndyDavo is the defining Blood Bowl Coach of the modern era.  Crowned Blood Bowl 3 World Champion in 2025 and the most successful tournament winner of the same year, he set the benchmark for elite play in the toughest competitive environment the game has ever seen.  Known for razor sharp fundamentals, ruthless efficiency and consistency under pressure, he represents the peak of modern Blood Bowl mastery.  AndyDavo is elite – historically elite.

In practical terms, he’s as good as as Blood Bowl coach gets and is operating in territory very few players in the game’s history have ever reached.

What separates him isn’t flash, it is control, near perfect sequencing, excellent clock and endgame management, high percentage decision making and strong match up planning before the first kick off.  He win’s games by removing chances not by gambling on dice.

Bottom Line if you ranked all Blood Bowl Coaches right now, across skill, results and pressure performance:  AndyDavo is at or very near #1 worldwide.  If this level of play continues over the coming years he won’t be described as ‘great’ he will be described as ‘inevitable’.  All round nice guy and also a bit of a tit…. But we love him.

I’ve been playing Blood Bowl since 2007, winning my first tournament in 2009. I was part of the original Team Wales founded by Hawca back in the day going to our first tournament as a team to the World Cup in 2011 in Amsterdam. I then took a break from the scene for a few years coming back to it  during lockdown.

Winning a further 3 tournaments (one of which was not recorded Grrrrr!) I represented Wales again with the Dragons in Athens and I’m very happy to squeeze into the team again for Poland. I love playing all teams, although Dark Elves have historically been my power team. Love the beautiful game and the people!

Dabbled with blood bowl with friends in 3rd edition then again on Blood Bowl 1 but really got into it in a big way in 2015 when I joined the Waterbowl League and started playing Blood Bowl 2 online. I like to play a wide variety of races and have won Naf tournaments with Amazons, OWA, Slann, Imperial Nobility, Underworld Denizens, Ogres (Stunty Tournament) and Blacks Orcs (Stunty Tournament). I didn’t play any team tournaments until joining team Wales for our victorious effort in The Tackle Zone Team Trophy at the game expo in Birmingham in 2024 and also won Home Nations with the Barbarians later that summer.

I’m the 2nd biggest Welsh blood bowl streamer both in terms of viewship and height and have won the Blood Bowl 2 Champions Cup. This will be my first Eurobowl and am grateful to have been called up by Team Wales and can’t wait to get together with the team!

The most capped player of the current squad having first featured in Denmark 2012. Privileged to have previously captained the team on three occasions including when Wales won the hosting rights for Eurobowl in Sweden and a Welsh contingent to a team tournament win at the UK Games Expo in 2024. As an individual spent the first solid 15 years of Blood Bowl tournament play battling around the mid tables, it wasn’t until BB2020 that I was able to record a race over a NAF rating of 200 or win a NAF rated tournament! Happily now have multiple of both after turning a corner in my Blood Bowl “career”.

Very much looking forward to pulling on the shirt again, reaching new heights in my individual game and being a part of a super talented Wales Blood Bowl squad.
