After months of intense planning and thrilling matches, it all came down to the final showdown between the Green Bay Pukers (Nurgle) and the Ash Kickers (Shambling Undead).
The match was a brutal battle, spread across two days. On the first evening, 16 rounds were played, but with the score tied 1-1, the game moved into extra time for another 8 rounds. Both teams suffered knockouts and casualties, but the Ash Kickers had the edge, with rerolls and winning the toss to receive. Despite this advantage, the Green Bay Pukers held firm and kept the Ash Kickers from scoring.
After extra time ended with the score still locked at 1-1, the winner was to be decided by a dramatic 5-round dice roll-off. Each team took turns rolling to see who could achieve the highest total. In the end, it was the Ash Kickers who triumphed.
While it’s always a bit disappointing for such a thrilling contest to come down to dice rolls, that’s the nature of the game.
