Team building
Please note that these rules have changed for Season 3!
Because of the sweeping changes brought in by the new edition, we didn’t feel confident in our ability to accurately assess the tiers. Because of this the Welsh Championships will be moving to flat tiering this year.
Coaches will have 1,150k gold and 7 skill points (SP) with which to build their teams. Gold can be spent on players, sideline staff, and inducements.
Skill points
grant a player one additional skill at the following costs:
- Primary Skill: 1 SP
- Secondary skill: 2 SP, max of one Secondary skill per team
No player can receive more than one additional skill. (i.e. no stacking), There will be a limit of 4 repeats per skill for Elite skills (Block, Dodge, Guard, Mighty Blow). So Taking 4 Guard and 3 Block is fine, but 5 Guard is not.
Inducements
can be anything from the rulebook excluding Wizards, Prayers to Nuffle, Mercenaries, and Star Players. Each team will get a free Mascot, the Sheepy Reroll!
Rosters
Rosters will be created using Tourplay: https://tourplay.net/en/blood-bowl/welsh-national-championship-2026
The deadline for rosters is midnight on 31st December 2025.
The rules
The ruleset will be the latest GW rulebook and any relevant FAQ and Spike magazine. New teams will be valid if they are available in Tourplay before the roster submission deadline.
The tournament will be Resurrection Style. All players are healed to full after each game, with no SPP, injuries, or temporary skills carrying over into the next round. Any players added during the match (such as by the Masters of Undeath rule) do not carry over to the next round.
Initial pairings will be random, followed by Swiss pairings for round 2-6.
Scoring
Scoring is 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss, and -15 points for a concession.
Tiebreakers, in order, are head-to-head, Strength of Schedule, TD difference, CAS difference
Timing
All rounds will last a maximum of 2 hours and 15 mins and will be called by the referees should that time expire. If either coach wishes to use a chess clock the other coach must agree.

£38 for NAF members, £38 for new NAF members and your price includes free NAF membership for you but make sure you tell us! Lunch on both days is included in this price.

What should you bring
Your team which must be painted to 3 colours minimum, based and WYSIWYG, proxies are allowed but must be themed to match as a team and positions must be clearly identifiable.
A pitch, your dice, any relevant markers, tokens, and templates.
